Workshop 1 – Tanja Meyburgh and Veronica King

Longing for Land and Belonging: acknowledging and healing from the trauma of dis-possession through colonization, slavery and Apartheid.

One of the deepest traumas of the oppressed is colonization and the dispossession of land. The loss of land created the displacement and the absence of a sense of belonging.

Land is intimately connected to our identity and our sense of belonging to this earth. Ancestral lands contain the graves, the blood and the bones of our ancestors who lived and died here. The land holds the roots of our family trees.

Humanity holds extensive histories of displacement, and the impact of these ill-gotten gains is the intergenerational trauma experienced by oppressed people. This trauma severely impacts all aspects of their lives.

  • Is acknowledgement enough, or what will it take to come into right relationship with the land?
  • How does this impact our healing from the legacies of colonization, slavery and Apartheid.

This session will include a constellation ritual created for the group by Tanja and Veronica.

Workshop 2 – Tanja Meyburgh and Sian Palmer

I am, because you are: ancestral connections through movement and dance.

This session focuses on returning to our linage roots; to a sense of con-nection with ourselves, previous generations, and the embodiment of the gifts and resources available to us through perception of the field through guided movement meditation. Many of us experience a sense of separa-tion or loss as we lead more disconnected lives and long for a sense of community and belonging. Reconnection to our body wisdom, reclaiming the lost parts of ourselves, and exploring relationships in this way allows us to live a more embodied, conscious and connected life. It brings us in alignment with our vitality; reconnecting us to our purpose, to the beauty of life, and reawakening in us joy and overall wellbeing.

This is an experiential session that includes music and movement.
